Antai Hospital’s unique dynamic 3D Hysterosalpingography or 3D Hysterosalpingogram, is an improved version of the standard Hysterosalpingography. This technology is very effective in the diagnosis of fallopian tube diseases or damages and inspection of the uterine cavity.
Our procedure is conducted by injecting iodinated-oil (radio-opaque material) with a catheter via the cervical canal and into the uterine cavity, and by using X-rays and image intensification, it allows doctors to have a comprehensive view for the following conditions:
- blocked FTs (includes the degree of blockage)
- ruptured FTs
- uterine malformations
- pelvic inflammatory diseases etc.
Improved upon by Dr Chen Fenglin of Antai Hospital, our version of this Hysterosalpingography is capable of remote-control, allowing the doctors to operate the procedure without any radiation exposure and also provides a live feed for the patient to view as well. If required, we also provide patients with their procedural digital recordings and images.
HSG can be considered both a diagnostic and treatment method as it flushes out any obstruction in the fallopian tubes, a process known as tubal flushing. Statistically in Antai Hospital, 27% of women struggling with infertility were able to get pregnant after undergoing our dynamic 3D-HSG.
Note:
- Patients do not need to undergo allergy tests for iodine
- No anti-inflammatory treatment is required post-treatment (Iodine is a powerful anti-microbial)
- Best to have procedure conducted in the follicular phase of menstrual period, roughly 3-5 days after your menses. (B-scan maybe required to confirm absence of pregnancy)
- Patients are advised to refrain from intercourse as there may be some mild abdominal pains and vaginal bleedings post-treatment. Once the bleeding and pain ceases, patients can resume a normal sex life again.
